Accept it. Creating tables in WordPress is messy. Of course, there have been plugins that’ll get the job done, but those plugins have been coded couple of years ago and appear to be clunky. For the new responsive web age, I’d recommend something more lightweight, fast loading, well coded and easy to use. A brand new tables plugin that is. I just found out one – Tabular Lite.
Tabular Lite is a light-weight, well-coded, fast loading solution for adding HTML tables to your WordPress posts. Using it too, is super easy, that you can just copy paste cells from your Excel spreadsheet and it would show up nice and clean.
What I really like about this plugin is that the generated table code is semantic in accordance with recommended web standards and best practices. Most of the old plugins miss this feature as they were built in the past, few years ago.
Also, there is no restriction on the number of tables you can create. It also comes with pre-built templates of different color themes that might fit your theme.
One feature that I hope this plugin had was an import feature, so folks who’ve been using old table plugins can easily migrate to the new one and save a few seconds on page load time.
