Which is the fastest 4G mobile network, is the million dollar question today. After all, one knows that all that’s said on TV and Ads aren’t entirely true.
4G has really taken off in the U.S last year (2011 – 2012) and the 4G services has improved a lot over this time. Early adopters to 4G mobile broadband had complained of sluggishness, limited connectivity and dropped connections. Today there are over five 4G mobile broadband network providers in the US.
PC World does a comparative study of all the 4G Mobile networks in the 13 cities of US. From Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. to give a real-time view of how the 3G-to-4G transition is progressing, and of which companies are currently delivering on the promised faster speeds.
The fastest 4G networks in USA
The study revealed the following interesting points.
- The best 3G mobile network in the US is T-Mobile, winning both the download and upload speeds.
- The fastest download speed on 4G was AT&T.
- The fastest upload speed on 4G was Verizon.
On the whole, both in 3G and 4G Mobile networks, Verizon has a strong hold over others. But download speeds were amazingly fast on AT&T. Looking at how Verizon have brought themselves up in the last couple of years with strong technology background, I think they deserve it.
