How to integrate different analytics services into one

This article was updated on August 6th, 2020 at 05:58 am

If you’re managing an e-commerce engine or anything similar to a web based online signup/conversion driving site, then I bet you’re dealing with at least a couple of javascript codes in your templates. While each code stand for a different purpose, integrating them seamlessly to one single dashboard is often a pain point.

I for instance, use Kissmetrics, Google Analytics and Mixpanel (to name a few) on an e-com project (a fairly simple one that is) to keep track of several things.

Data is often scattered between them and I have to switch between accounts most of the time to make sense of it.

Now, the point is, here is an interesting SF based startup that promises to take care of this situation with their solution – Segment.io.

What is Segment.io?

Segment.io gives you the ability to instrument your web app for analytics once, and then send your data to any number of analytics services, including Google Analytics, Mixpanel, KissMetrics, Customer.io, Intercom.io and others. This keeps your code clean, saves development time, and makes it easy to add, remove and experiment with different analytics services without touching any code.

Setting it up is extremely easy as clicking a few buttons and of course, stripping the already existing codes and replacing them with the simple code from Segment.io.

What I like the most about the service is the fact that it integrates seamlessly with pretty much all the popular tools out there like the following.

  • Google Analytics
  • Mixpanel
  • KissMetrics
  • Customer.io
  • Intercom.io
  • CrazyEgg
  • Olark
  • GoSquared
  • Clicky
  • Gauges
  • Vero
  • Klaviyo
  • Hubspot
  • Errorception

Looks promising, doesn’t it?

Try it out.
