Bing SEO : Now Goes Official with Webmaster’s Guidelines
SEO was always intended for Google. Bing and Yahoo always followed suit. If it was good for Google, it was ok with Bing and Yahoo.
Why? Because there were very little efforts from Bing and Yahoo regarding how to optimize websites for better search results and relevancy. There were even lesser information regarding how Bing and Yahoo algorithms worked.
Not trying to say that there were no efforts at all from them but compared to what Google did with Web Master’s Central, Yahoo and Bing’s efforts were little or nothing.
Not any more.
Bing has been gearing up recently with efforts to reach out to webmasters and SEO’s – giving them information about what works and what doesn’t, along with hints about how to optimize for Bing.
The other day, Bing released its first Webmaster’s Guidelines, for SEOs.
It has information on what factors Bing look for in webpages when considering search engine relevancy.
Pretty neat effort, I’d say. The website talks about how to optimize websites for Bing, starting with basics like links and going up to dealing with duplicate content.
With Bing’s market share improving over the past couple of months, thanks to their aggressive branding and marketing strategy, I think this is the right time to look into how much traffic webmaster’s can generate from the spike.
